Kickin It With 821

Check out their mini series on youtube called “Welcome to the Lobby” to get some more insight about this group and see what goes on in their daily life.

I was able to sit down with the members of Queen’s own 821; C Black, KK Da Don, and Hoedy to discuss with them how life has changed since dropping their song “Lobby” in May 2015.

821 has came a long way and fast after releasing their hit single Lobby. They have put out more tracks like “Trap” and “Mummy Move” that are crazy hype songs that would make your grandmother want to dance. I have personally witnessed the success of 821 and how much they have grown. Slim Jxmmi from Rae Sremmurd, hopped on the Lobby Remix, and at a Sremm life concert I was able to see him rock the crowd at Le Trabendo, Paris to the Lobby remix which I found mind blowing. Since then, 821 has been performing in major cities, and even hit the stage at SXSW in which C Black  says that experience was like a movie.

Something that makes 821 so raw is how fun their music is. They put real life issues and everyday things in a song that you can just bump to. I had to ask them about their inspiration to record the song Mummy that was released shortly after Lobby, and Hoedy answered me with “this is our life, these are real life things that we go through.” That being said  I think it’s dope how they put on for their city and create a playful movement for all to enjoy.

We all can look forward to hearing a mixtape from 821 by the end of April early May. As well as a documentary that they have been working on throughout their Journey of working in the industry and their everyday life. Throughout all their growing success, these guys still remain humble and down to earth and I look forward to seeing what’s to come. Be sure to check out their new music video to their song “Trap” that came out this week. You can watch it below!
